      AACAT Human Trafficking Conference 2019

      It is a pleasure to invite you to AACAT Human Trafficking Conference, the 2019-What You Missed While You Weren’t Looking. The conference will take place in San Antonio, Texas on September 25 to 26, 2019 at Oblate School of Theology 285 Oblate Drive San Antonio, TX 78216-6693. The conference is in its fourth year of providing professional education to victim service providers, law enforcement, medical professionals, and the community. The Alamo Area Coalition Against Trafficking exists to prosecute offenders, prevent future exploitation, and serve current survivors of human trafficking. AACAT works with over 70 non-profits, faith-based organizations, government agencies, elected officials, and service providers in San Antonio, Bexar County and the surrounding areas. A one and a half day conference featuring speakers who are leaders in their field of law enforcement, medicine, mental health, or social services presenting on topics of human trafficking. The focus of this year’s conference is domestic minor sex trafficking. Speakers include  -San Antonio District Attorney Joe Gonzales -Todd Latiolas, Office of the Governor -Debbie Solcher, Office of the Governor -Merideth Erickson, PhD, Executive Director of Children's Alliance of South Texas -Kori Ebrle, Metro Health -Kirsta Melton, Office of the Attorney General -Kelsey McKay, Strangulation Expert, former prosecutor -Kayce Ward, Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner, Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital -Cynthia Ramos, Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner, Children's Hospital of San Antonio -Detective George Segura, SAPD -Allen Parker, President, Justice Foundation -Helen Mireles, Department of Homeland Security -Norma Lacy, Immigration Customs Enforcement -Sheriff Salazar, Bexar County Sheriff -Chief McManus, SAPD
